Weddings are always special. But then there are those extra special ones when you get to witness two very close friends tie the knot. Those are moments we never forget.
This was one of the rare times Tyler was on the other side of the lens. And although he would very much prefer it the other way around, I think we can all agree he’s a pretty darn handsome guy.
Ashley + Tyler held their first look (also known as a reveal) on the grounds of the beautiful Bates House at Frank Melville Memorial Park on the east end of Long Island in East Setauket, New York.
Tyler is not one to smile for photographs, but the sheer joy of seeing his beautiful soon-to-be bride helped him let out a little smirk. We’ll take it.
Ashley, on the other hand, never has a problem letting her beautiful smile come through. It’s one of the reasons I love being friends with her so much. She consistently laughs at my lame attempts at being funny.
But seriously, I am a pretty comical guy.
No Tyler + Ashley wedding could be complete without the inclusion of their babies, Stella and Duke. They truly are, in every sense of the word, part of the family. Just look at these beautiful creatures…
The beautiful ceremony took place at Ashley’s childhood church, Peace Christian. Stella and Duke began the bridal procession with a brief appearance, walking very briskly down the aisle.
Ashley + Tyler’s closest family and friends were more than happy to greet the newly married couple following the ceremony with a generous shower of birdseed.
And back to the Bates House we went, where the setting sun offered enough time for family portraits and a few more shots of the newlyweds.
Party time. Tyler’s love and slight (totally healthy) obsession with wood-fired ovens came through in their cocktail hour. How cool is it that they had a food truck with a wood-fired oven serving up pizza for the cocktail hour?! I mean, come on now. Super cool. And delicous.
Ashley’s eye for detail came through in every aspect of the reception. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of planning and time on Pinterest and Etsy this girl went through. The cake was not only beautiful, it tasted phenomenal. It was definitely one of the best wedding cakes I’ve ever tasted.
A beautiful day for two beautiful friends. Congratulations Ashley + Tyler!
